Really, I discovered this in a hidden place in south Orange County - tucked away in this conservative onclave. Is it a secret CIA outpost? I am highly intrigued with the unusual (to say the least) appearance of this place and plan to return to do more spy photography....

claudiatammen > This is an image of J. Philip Newell, poet and scholar in the area of Celtic spirituality. I received this image at a retreat I attended at Ghost Ranch Conference Center in New Mexico. The sense of quiet presence and welcome smile are so Philip.
claudiatammen > After the Santiago fire I walked along Modjeska Canyon Rd. yesterday, took this image and worked on it today. There is a mile-long stretch of olive trees, planted by Madame Modjeska (first occupant of the canyon) lining the road into the canyon. They are now mostly burned, with stark and ghostly looking forms, ash everywhere.
claudiatammen > I took this yesterday as the crop dusters flew over Modjeska Canyon dumping hydro-mulch which will help absorb the water during rainfall. So far, the canyon has had only minor mud and debris slides. Yeah!
