claudiatammen > August 18: Red Red Roses
Dear community,
I'm finding that I cannot keep up with the daily challenge. It seems a good time to take a break. This rose is for all of you who took time to provide feedback, encouraging words, and constructive ideas. And all the best to everyone in continuing community and great photography! I'll be back.....
claudiatammen > August 7: Bromeliad Blooms
Lo and behold this cactus-looking plant in my garden bloomed! I had never seen this flower before, and still can't quite believe it - colorful petals and seed pods. It is something to behold. Thanks to Brian, my stepbrother, who gave it to me and didn't tell me what it was.
claudiatammen > Aug. 4: Cone Flower
I was inspired by Art Hill's image yesterday of the cone flower and bee to post this shot. Mine does not have the clarity of focus that his does, but I like the colors and softness.
claudiatammen > June 17: Flower with a hat
Today is the first time I've experimented with my new extension tubes for close-up shots. I didn't do so well with most of them, but this was one I liked. Mostly because this flower kept it's hat when it bloomed from the pod into the flower and it looks quite humorous. It will fall off eventually as the flower continues to bloom. I regret not getting the top of the "hat", but I couldn't get the lens to focus.....I see lots of practice in my future.
claudiatammen > May 27: Stages of life
Perhaps because I've been spending so much time in my own and my neighbor's gardens, I'm enjoying the budding and blooming of Spring, but am also more aware of life's cycles. In our culture I think we put too much emphasis and expectation on the Spring of life, and we are not mindful of the gifts that come at each stage (I certainly wasn't as a teenager!). I plan to age in loveliness and peace as roses do.
claudiatammen > May 22: End of the cycle
Taking photos in my friend's garden again. Things have changed from just a few weeks ago - some things are done and others beginning to grow. I liked the texture on this faded rose and I thought the "aged photo" preset in LR showed that off the best.
claudiatammen > May 18: Luscious Pink
In Lightroom, I adjusted the Clarity slider to create a softer feel instead of sharpening the image.
claudiatammen > Apr. 27: Just another rose
claudiatammen > Apr. 19th - Some days I don't have any photos to post, so today I'm posting two....this image is from Sarah's garden (as was yesterday's post). I went back again just to see the riot of color, form, texture, you name it.
