claudiatammen > The Pink Rain of northern New Mexico Sometimes after a thunderstorm rain can still be seen in the sky (it evaporates before it hits the ground). If this happens at sunset, the sun's rays may create a sky that glows pink. I was fortunate to experience the effect this summer at Ghost Ranch, and with a double rainbow!

claudiatammen > July 28: Pink Rain in the Espanola Valley, NM Here is another photo taken the day of a thunderstorm which created the effect called "pink rain" in northern New Mexico. An added plus was the double rainbow.
