I spotted this shot while eating lunch at the Santa Fe International Folk Arts Festival. The Zebra mask was made in Haiti, and waiting to be mailed to it's new owner - in an incongruous stack of bins. I liked the shapes and contrast of the warm adobe wall, the statue in the background, the abstract sculpture, and mask.

I walked along Modjeska Canyon Rd. yesterday, took this image and worked on it today. There is a mile-long stretch of olive trees, planted by Madame Modjeska (first occupant of the canyon) lining the road into the canyon. They are now mostly burned, with stark and ghostly looking forms, ash everywhere.
