claudiatammen > May 20: Green Man
The idea for this shot started as an assignment for my recent B&W class. We had to emulate a master photographer, whose name was given to us by the instructor. I got Imogen Cunningham, whose work I had never seen before. Wow, did I like it. She did a lot of nature studies, similar to O'Keeffe's paintings, and a series of nudes with trees (comparing the natural forms and human forms).

This is my brother (you can see I didn't get him to pose nude!) who graciously agreed to pose for me. I was working on the image again today and I decided it also fit the "green man" theme. He seems to be emerging out of the undergrowth.
claudiatammen > June 5: Sufi Tree
I like experimenting with making a lens blur or zoom blur. I love this oak at a nearby Vedanta Temple with the circular bench beneath. I don't know what possessed me to try a zoom blur at this spot, but it seems to have brought the tree to life, like it's dancing. Though I've never seen Sufi's spin, I've heard about this tradition. So, this is my spinning Sufi tree.
claudiatammen > Reggie in Motion
Six is out for a romp and Reggie gets into the action.
claudiatammen > Thurs. May 28: Modjeska Creek
The creek is pretty low now and we're not even in summer yet. It is still a nice place to sit on a rock and listen to the water.
claudiatammen > This is a photo I worked on today. It was shot last week on Modjeska Canyon road in the early evening light. I enjoy these olive trees lining and overhanging the road. The branches seem to be reaching out to each other. I especially like the curve in the road and the light on the trees.
claudiatammen > July 27: Filling station at Ghost Ranch
I love this quaint little gas station - it serves about 20 Ranch vehicles on a regular basis, as well as guests who are desperate. It is amazing how people on a budget can get by on a little chewing gum and duct tape.....The Maintenance guys are a great crew. Notice the fire extinguisher hanging from the middle structure (safety feature), and the old U.S. post box on top of the left tank. They use it for receipts. This is why I love this place.

claudiatammen > May 22: End of the cycle
Taking photos in my friend's garden again. Things have changed from just a few weeks ago - some things are done and others beginning to grow. I liked the texture on this faded rose and I thought the "aged photo" preset in LR showed that off the best.
